Osaka, The Mecca of Japanese Soul Food.

Today, i'll introduce you to "Shinumeda Syokudougai".

This place is always crowded. Especially during the evening rush hour, when many office workers or “salary men” as they are known in Japan, crowd together with students to satisfy their hunger.

The Japanese word "Shokudougai" means eating house district. So, you can eat many casual dishes like Kitsune udon noodles, Okonomiyaki pancakes, and Kushikatsu deep-fried kebabs. Among all those delicious foods, Takoyaki is the best!

Savory sauce, scalding hot, soft and tasty... It is the most suitable for a snack with a drink. Salary men enjoy it with draft beer. The perfect end to a long day at the office. Takoyaki are made with wheat, water, chopped octopus, red pickled ginger and shavings of dried bonito etc. Cooking Takoyaki is too easy, almost all families in Kansai area have the cookware and make it frequently.

The another good point of this place is the usage of space. There are many restaurants, eating houses and  standing bars... About 100 stores and are all close together in this small space.
